STARTERS

MUDEFORD CRAB CROQUETTES

Chef Patron Alex ’s crispy crab croquettes with
warm tartare sauce (featured on “Taste of Britain”)

MUSHROOMS ON TOAST

Coarse country bread toasted, topped with sautéed wild mushrooms,
garlic and wilted spinach. Finished with cream

TWICE BAKED CHEESE SOUFFLÉ

Alex’s famous cheese soufflé glazed with a cheese crust
Or Arbroath Smokies Souffle flaking smoked haddock  (£2.50)

CORONATION CHICKEN SALAD

First prepared in 1952 on the eve of the Queen’s Coronation
(available as a Starter or Main)

PRAWN COCKTAIL

Crunchy lettuce, chopped egg mayonnaise, prawns in
spiced tomato Marie Rose sauce

MAINS

FISH AND CHIPS

Sustainable hake or haddock fillet, in a local cider and gluten free batter.
With fat chips and smashed garden peas.

CHILLI CON VEGGIE

A vegetarian chilli with beans, minced aubergine, carrot and mushroom.
Topped with soft potato and crunchy puffed rice

‘SAUSAGE AND MASH’

Creamy chicken sausage on leeks,
With mashed potato and a lobster bisque sauce

FISH PIE

Delicious fresh, smoked fish, plump pink prawns, hard boiled egg
in a creamy white sauce topped with mashed potatoes

‘HAM EGG AND CHIPS’

Pulled ham hock parsley sauce,
Jetty scotched egg and triple cooked chips

DESSERTS

CAMBRIDGE BURNT CREAM

Vanilla cream topped with sugar then glazed

BAKEWELL TART

Warm Bakewell tart, a pool of custard and a contrasting ice cream

CREAM SHERRY TRIFLE

A classic WI dish of sherry trifle.
With fresh fruits, sherry and Harveys Bristol cream

WELSH RAREBIT

Warm, toasted country bread spread
With a rich grilled cheese topping

TRADITIONAL BRITISH PUDDING & CUSTARD

We have many great puddings from ‘spotted dick’ and ‘jam roly poly’,
to great crumbles and cobblers – check for today’s pudding
